Located in our Denver Headquarter office, the Operational and Markets Manager will be part of the Americas Commercial team reporting to the Senior Director - Industrial Growth, Commercial, Americas. This role is responsible for managing a diverse group including application engineering, inside sales, program management and market analytics with a focus on business development and growth within the Region. Additionally, this role will align the business growth objectives with the tool and resources needed to drive long term revenue. The Operational and markets manager will have broad responsibility for driving key industry insight and complex management of national sales opportunities through local and regional sales teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFunctional Leadership & Team Management
- Application Engineering: Lead a fluid power and power transmission application engineering team in translating complex customer requirements and system designs into internal engineering and product strategies. Guarantee the team identifies and meets all relevant industry standards, testing requirements, and validation needs for platform adoption. Ensure proper alignment between business development and application engineering to facilitate long term business success.
- Inside Sales: Oversee the custom metals inside sales function to ensure alignment with national sales opportunities and regional sales teams. Drive the development of tools and resources that enable the sales force to execute growth objectives effectively. Grow and expand our metals footprint across North America through vendor expansion and sale team alignment
- Program Management: Lead the program management team in executing multi-year business plans and managing the pipeline of large projects from initial specification to final business award and specification.
- Market Analytics: Guide the analytics team to monitor technology trends, regulatory shifts, and system-level requirements. Use these insights to identify, quantify, and prioritize high-impact business opportunities and emerging technologies.
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Business Planning: Develop and own a multi-year business plan aligned with the Americas Strategic Plan, delivering profitable growth against defined revenue and cost targets.
- Machine OEM Specification Strategy: Leverage market expertise to develop strategies that increase Gates' presence in machine builder (OEM) specifications across target applications.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and map key stakeholders within large, targeted organizations-including executive leadership, engineering, and sourcing-to build strong technical and commercial partnerships.
- Marketing Collaboration: Partner with marketing teams to drive revenue-focused initiatives that strengthen the Gates brand as a preferred product partner.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a prioritized list of strategic enterprise business targets, ensuring resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.
Requirements and Preferred Skills- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Business.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience with at least 3 years experience in the industrial manufacturing industry.
- Experience selling to/in the Industrial market segments.
- Background with Power Transmission and/or Fluid Power products is preferred
- Travel for this role is allotted at 20%.
- Must possess a strong business acumen and be an experienced, self-directed leader capable of planning, organizing, developing & directing key account plans/projects in a professional and logical manner.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Pay & Benefits- Full-Time
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000
- Bonus Eligible
