This position reports to:
Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an OEM Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing multiple account strategies focused on growth, profitability and customer satisfaction while coordinating all sales activities and managing resolution of customer problems. Responsibilities include assisting with project quotations, order management, customer training and demand generation to position ABB as the preferred vendor.

While this is a remote position, candidates must be located in the Los Angeles / Orange County, CA area.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary interface for OEM customers, building strategic relationships, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction through tailored account plans and training initiatives.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share and margin, identify and secure new OEM customers, and propose recovery plans to address potential order shortfalls.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams to align customer needs with business goals, share market insights, and facilitate effective communication across departments.
  • Market Intelligence & Value Creation: Monitor competitor activity, understand customer business drivers, and create added value through cross-selling opportunities and streamlined engagement with ABB.


Qualifications for the role:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (preferred but not necessary) with 3+ years of relevant experience, particularly in the electrical industry and with ABB products.
  • Customer & Sales Expertise: Proven ability to work with OEM customers, manage complex contract negotiations, and respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong in technical applications, proposal development, and use of analytical software and sales tools; Six Sigma or equivalent quality training preferred.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience leading discussions and building strong customer relationships.
  • Work Authorization & Travel: Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually and is bonus eligible.
