Position Overview:

**$2,500 sign-on bonus available to external candidates - in accordance with Sutter Health policy + excellent benefits!**

Successful candidate will hold OTA certification in the state of California.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) is a State-approved professional health care worker who provides specialized tasks within the established plan of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The OTA performs selected measurement procedures and implements treatment programs for home health and hospice patients who have been evaluated by an Occupational Therapist. The OTA is responsible for communication and documentation of patient care activities provided and performs special projects as assigned.

Job Description:

EDUCATION
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Other: Graduate of approved school for Occupational Therapy Assistants, as defined by the board, with documentation of approval to practice as an OTA by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. or equivalent education/experience


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
  • OTA-Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • DL-Valid Drivers License
  • AUTO-Automobile Insurance


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
  • 1 Minimum of one year of experience in acute care, home health or community health setting.
  • 1 One year of experience in a home health setting is preferred
  • 5 Direct patient care experience within the past five years.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills in English (both verbal and written); legible handwriting for documentation of patient records in a clear and concise manner.
  • Basic understanding of home care services, clinical standards of occupational therapy care and practice, Title XXII, Medicare Conditions of Participation, CHAP home health accreditation requirements, QI audits, infection control, and reimbursement patterns for Medicare and other payors.
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative, motivation, flexibility and creativity.
  • Ability to form harmonious working relationships with internal and external customers, excellent collaborative and problem solving skills with staff, customers and management.
  • Must have ability to work independently, (as delegated) with sound judgment in providing patient care, demonstrated ability in physical, psychosocial, and environmental assessment skills, and in implementing plan of treatment.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Access to a reliable automobile for home visits.

Pay Range is $41.28 to $51.50 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
