Position SummaryThe Occupational Therapist works under the Early Intervention Program Director as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to children from birth to three years of age in a family-centered program. The Occupational Therapist works directly with children and their families in the children's natural environments, including, but not limited to, the children's homes and/or daycare settings. They coordinate with families, multidisciplinary team members, and outside providers, as appropriate, to maximize positive developmental and learning outcomes for children and families served.
What You'll Do- Completing assessments and writing objectives
- Design and implement functional activities that address students' occupational therapy needs.
- Provide consultation and training to classroom staff, ensuring effective strategies are used daily.
- Consulting with classroom staff regarding students' OT needs
- Offer direct therapy services when needed, applying evidence-based techniques
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to IEP evaluations and ongoing student support.
What You Bring
- Education: Graduate of an approved program in occupational therapy
- Licensure: Valid and current license as an OT in Massachusetts
- Skills: Demonstrated commitment to student progress, ability to multitask and take initiative in multitasking
- Qualities: Finds enjoyment working with a multi-disciplinary team
