Full Job Description
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within Montana State Hospital.

Montana State Hospital provides acute care psychiatric inpatient treatment for adults with serious mental illness. This position is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and provides direct medical care and services to patients in a clinical or infirmary setting. This position provides clinical oversight of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in performance of Licensed Independent Practitioner assigned orders.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
  • Extensive and advanced knowledge of medical advanced practice nursing.
  • Understanding of individual and team approaches to treatment and therapy for mental health illness.
  • Knowledge of professional standards of practice for healthcare professionals in different disciplines, in medical clinic settings, and for the operation of a healthcare facility.
  • Ability to effectively utilize knowledge and skills and apply them to practical assessment and treatment modalities for patients.
  • Ability to compose and provide information in the form of reports and complete clinical documentation.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • Masters' Degree from an accredited APRN program as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
    • Licensed as APRN in the State of Montana, prescriptive authority with assignment of DEA number.
    • Two years of experience providing patient care preferably as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
