Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for a Nurse Practitioner in San Angelo, TX.

The Nurse Practitioner is an established and productive individual contributor who works under moderate supervision. Services are provided under the mentorship or supervision of a Site Lead or Health Services & Resources Supervisor and the general direction of the designated physician, as required by law.

This role provides occupational health nursing, medical, and integrated health services consistent with the policies, guidelines, objectives, and content of the Johnson & Johnson Occupational Health Program. The Nurse Practitioner adheres to all established privacy, safety, and confidentiality regulations while supporting employee health, wellness, and occupational safety initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Care & Occupational Health Services

  • Provide acute episodic ambulatory care, consultative occupational injury and illness care, and health and wellness counseling and promotion for employees.

  • Review clinical data, laboratory results, and imaging studies; initiate appropriate interventions and referrals.

  • Manage a patient caseload requiring a high degree of independent judgment and advanced clinical skills acquired through academic and clinical preparation.

  • Provide emergency first-aid treatment to employees who become ill or are injured on company premises and arrange transportation to alternative care providers when necessary. Notify all appropriate parties.

  • Provide subcutaneous immunotherapy for individuals in the maintenance phase as directed by a treating allergist.

  • Deliver travel health services for individuals traveling internationally, including vaccine review and administration, medication prescribing, and destination-specific health education and counseling.

  • Conduct preventive health evaluations and testing in accordance with Health Services program protocols.

  • Conduct health profiles, health evaluations, health screenings, drug screenings, and health promotion activities as part of the integrated Health Services & Resources strategy.

  • Advise and counsel employees within areas of clinical competency and integrated services and make appropriate internal and external referrals when indicated.

Case Management & Employee Support

  • Assist in the administration and coordination of medical leaves of absence and Workers’ Compensation processes, as required.

  • Act as a liaison with medical providers to support patient adherence to billing policies and procedures.

  • Participate in periodic evaluations of Health Services & Resources programs, including customer surveys, trend analysis, and other effectiveness assessments.

  • Participate in and advise employees regarding available organizational health services and resources.

Health & Safety Programs

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create and maintain safe work environments and facilities.

  • Coordinate investigations of health-related complaints or concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • Participate as an active member of the First Aid and Emergency Response Team.

  • Develop knowledge of occupational hazards, workplace exposures, and treatment protocols specific to the site.

  • Support Occupational Health Clinic operations and assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary health facility.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Comply with all policies, procedures, nursing standards of practice, standing orders, protocols, and medical directives required by the Company and applicable State Nurse Practice Acts.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using approved medical, nursing, statistical, and electronic systems.

  • Update and maintain employee medical records within approved Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and privacy requirements.

  • Practice within the legal scope of licensure and applicable regulations.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide advice, counseling, and educational resources for first-aid personnel.

  • Coach and support more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

  • Participate in internal and cross-functional projects, teams, and initiatives.

  • Demonstrate and apply Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in daily interactions and decision-making.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Position requires participation in the Bloodborne Pathogens Program.

  • Active participation on the site's Emergency Response Team is required.

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • Master's degree in Nursing required.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.

  • Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in occupational health, internal medicine, or acute care settings (e.g., emergency department, intensive care unit, urgent care, or similar environments).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to prescribe and dispense medications in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to practice within the defined scope of professional practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing and/or Case Management.

  • Spirometry Certification.

  • Audiometry Certification.

  • Working knowledge of:
