Full Job Description
AMG Physical Rehabilitation Hospital - Covingtonis seeking a Full Time Nurse Manager/Quality RN that is a member of the companyadministrative team and participates in decision-making, policy determination,and planning and operations of the healthcare company. She/he has theresponsibility for the management of all nursing and clinical practices. Theapplicant must have knowledge of current theoretical approaches todelivering nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevantconcepts and current leadership, management, and performance improvementconcepts and the ability to participate in developing and implementingstrategies to address opportunities for improving nursing care.

This position requires responsibility for planning andimplementing the performance improvement program to meet the needs of thehealthcare company and hospital. It also provides education to medical staff,hospital staff and the Governing Body, as well as facilitates performanceimprovement activities and CQI activities throughout the healthcare company andhospital. This department is also to be used as a resource person to theadministrative team, department managers and medical staff. Responsible for allregulatory body surveys including State Licensing Review and CMS Validationsurveys. Responsible for risk evaluation and coordination of corrective actionimplementation related to risk issues. Provide intervention and educationrelated to risk management issues to promote safe work practices and qualitycare and services in an environment that is beneficial to the safety, healthand well being of all patients, visitors, healthcare company and hospitalstaff. Coordinates risk programs with all hospital departments, administrationand the legal risk manager. Report real and potential risk situations to theGoverning Body, medical staff, administration, healthcare company and hospital departments and committees, as appropriate. Responsible for establishing andmonitoring methods to avoid, eliminate and/or reduce risk situations associatedwith the provision of patient care and services.
Theapplicant will be a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelinesand definitions of healthcare associated infections (HAIs), federal and stateregulations. He/She is responsible for the identification, investigation,reporting, prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HAIs)among patients and personnel. By authority of the healthcare company andhospital Infection Control Committee, she/he may institute collection ofcultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions. She/He is responsiblefor assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention andcontrol. Concerning Employee Health, he/she is responsible for attending to allemployee work related injuries and recommending appropriate action, as well ascommunicating with the risk manager any trends in the workplace.

Job Requirements
  • Current RN Louisiana clinical licensure in good standing required
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability with a minimum of three to five years experience in nursing administration.
  • 1-3 years experience in Quality Improvement or Risk Management
  • Minimum three (3) year experience in a supervisory position in healthcare or one (1) to three (3) years in infection control.
  • 3 or more years experience in acute care setting.
  • Member of the Association of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
  • Working knowledge of microbiology, Epidemiology, infectious diseases, aseptic techniques and current practices.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • A minimum of one-year experience in utilization review.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
