Regional Project Delivery Director - Transportation

The Regional Project Delivery Director - Transportation provides project delivery and commercial leadership across a Transportation business region with accountability for strategic oversight and leads enterprise coordination efforts to enhance project delivery performance. This role will oversee projects from proposal to completion and be responsible for margin preservation, pricing strategy, sets functional priorities, and partners with executives to ensure delivery practices are aligned with corporate strategy and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

This role can sit in any major Transportation office within the New England Region.

Your Impact

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership for commercial strategy, pricing discipline, and governance across the Transportation portfolio with a sustained focus on margin preservation.


  • Own and lead pricing strategy for priority and high-risk pursuits, including price-to-win development and successful positioning.


  • Set the strategic vision for the delivery function and oversee cross-functional initiatives that support execution excellence.


  • Oversee the implementation of project delivery standards and ensure alignment across functions and markets.


  • Direct enterprise-wide programs for delivery of process improvement, compliance, and tool adoption.


  • Partner with Strategic Growth, Legal, and Business Line leadership to support go / no-go decision-making.


  • Lead and support bid reviews, contract reviews, readiness reviews, and project reviews.


  • Act as a player-coach, engaging directly in complex pursuits, negotiations, and at-risk projects as needed.


  • Support client engagement during negotiations and delivery while reinforcing WSP's commercial position.


  • Provide oversight on contractual risk, change management, contingency usage, and recovery planning.


  • Identify emerging commercial risks and opportunities through active project review and engagement.


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Project Directors and Project Managers in complex or ambiguous situations.


  • Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen commercial capability across the region.


  • Contribute to continuous improvement and sharing of commercial best practices.


  • Represent the commercial function in leadership forums with executive presence and sound judgment.


  • Prepare and deliver executive-level commercial updates and risk assessments.


  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the Transportation business.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.


  • 15+ years of relevant experience in, project delivery and/or Extensive experience in enterprise-level leadership of project delivery, program execution, or operational transformation.


  • Extensive experience in enterprise-level leadership of project delivery, program execution, or operational transformation.


  • Strong understanding of contractual frameworks and project commercial lifecycles.


  • Proven ability to provide commercial judgment in high-risk situations.


  • Experience partnering with Legal, Operations, Finance, and Business Development.


  • Strong communication skills and executive presence.


  • Ability and willingness to travel within the region.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or relevant professional certification.


  • Experience with alternative delivery models.


  • Previous experience in regional or enterprise commercial governance roles.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $182,000 - $333,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
