Position Summary
The Network & Systems Engineer is responsible for the management, maintenance, security, and support of the Generations Healthcare (GHC) network, firewall, Windows infrastructure, telecommunications, and voice systems. This position provides hands-on technical expertise across network engineering and systems administration and independently troubleshoots complex infrastructure issues, manages critical network and telecommunications services, coordinates with vendors and carriers, and participates in infrastructure projects. The Network & Systems Engineer supports the ongoing reliability, performance, and security of GHC's technology infrastructure.

General Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot GHC's enterprise network and systems infrastructure, including Cisco networking, Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and related technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex network, firewall, systems, connectivity, and performance issues from identification through resolution.
- Administer and support GHC's telecommunications and VoIP environment, including Mitel systems, WAN connectivity, circuits, and carrier services.
- Support network and systems security, monitoring, patching, upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with telecommunications carriers, vendors, contractors, facility teams, and other business partners to resolve issues and complete infrastructure projects.
- Provide hands-on support at GHC facilities for new facility start-ups, installations, equipment configuration, cabling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Manage infrastructure projects and issues with strong follow-through, proactively communicating status, next steps, timelines, delays, and resolution to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain accurate network, systems, telecommunications, and infrastructure documentation.
Experience and Education
- Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience in network engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related IT role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking, Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and related infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with telecommunications/WAN technologies, carrier services, and Mitel or other enterprise VoIP systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify root causes and drive issues through resolution.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project coordination skills, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences and keep stakeholders informed throughout projects and issue resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant technical certifications are also preferred.
- Ability to travel to GHC facilities approximately 25-50% and perform hands-on infrastructure work, including equipment installation, cabling, and troubleshooting.
- This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
