Network Security Analyst- Fully onsite in Columbia, SC
The selected candidate will assist our client's cybersecurity SOC team by assisting with day-to-day cybersecurity operations, network security monitoring, compliance initiatives, and threat analysis across on-premises and cloud environments.
This role requires a hands-on technical professional who can work independently on network security tasks while collaborating with senior analysts and agency stakeholders on complex cybersecurity projects.
Required Qualifications - Network Security Analyst- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Must be a South Carolina resident; relocation is not permitted.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
- Network security certification such as PCNSE, CCNA, or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or support.
- Experience in IT security, cybersecurity operations, or systems administration.
- Working knowledge of secure network architecture, data protection principles, access control models, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with switching, routing, enterprise firewalls, IDS/IPS technologies, and network security monitoring.
- Ability to analyze network logs, alerts, and security telemetry to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical documentation.
Responsibilities - Network Security Analyst- Monitor, investigate, and respond to daily network security alerts, threats, and incidents.
- Perform network security assessments and technical reviews for firewall, infrastructure, and connectivity change requests.
- Analyze on-premises and cloud network environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Support compliance efforts related to HIPAA, CMS ARC-AMPE, SCDIS-200, and other cybersecurity frameworks and standards.
- Conduct firewall rule reviews, network traffic analysis, and security monitoring activities to maintain a secure environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to implement security controls, improve network security posture, and support ongoing cybersecurity initiatives.
