Full Job Description
Everforth ECS is seeking licensed Professional Engineers (PE) with distinct expertise in Naval Architecture and Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Structural engineering to work remotely. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

We are seeking licensed Professional Engineers (PE) with distinct expertise in Naval Architecture and Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Structuralengineering to lead the technical design, development, and integration of commercial and governmental marine vessels. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS) groupings, the PE will hold stamping authority, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive engineering excellence.

Typical duties and responsibilities include:
  • SWBS Ownership: Assume total technical responsibility and quality control for SWBS groupings applicable to your domain, ensuring work adheres to 100% of the project requirements.
  • PE Stamping & Certification: Review, verify, and stamp design packages, calculations, and specifications for classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV) and flag state authorities as necessary.
  • Requirements Management: Map end user requirements to holistic systems and engineering methodologies, ensuring no design criteria or regulatory standards are missed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate directly with other SWBS leads to ensure proper integration of weight, stability, power, other ship services, and structural interfaces.
  • Life-Cycle Support: Support and help to drive the design spiral, shipyard construction, commissioning, and in-service modifications/drydockings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet project specifications, class requirements, and maritime regulatory standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, USCG).
  • Review & Modification: Conduct design reviews, incorporate feedback, and implement modifications to accommodate changes in project scope.
  • Briefings & Reports: Develop and present technical materials at all levels, including senior executives for efficient review and decision making.
  • Some level of travel may be required.

Specific functional/SWBS requirements include:

Structural Engineer (Naval Architect / Marine Engineer)

Focus Area: SWBS Group 100 (Hull Structure), Group 200 (Propulsion), and Group 500 (Auxiliary Systems).

Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate hull forms, scantlings, and foundations.
  • Evaluate conceptual designs for ship systems and identify the work required to develop the associated detailed/production designs.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and first-principle calculations to ensure structural integrity.
  • Manage weight monitoring and structural evaluation to maintain vessel intact and damage stability.
  • Develop drawings (with the assistance from CAD drafters) of associated systems.

Qualifications: PE in Structural/Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture. Experience in lifting appliances, structural design, or hybrid propulsion is a plus.

Mechanical Engineer (Marine Engineer)

Focus Area: SWBS Group 200 (Propulsion Plant), Group 300 (Electric Plant - Mechanical Aspects), Group 500 (Auxiliary Systems), and Group 600 (Outfit & Furnishings).

Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for piping, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, and steering gear.
  • Evaluate conceptual designs for ship systems and identify the work required to develop the associated detailed/production designs.
  • Conduct hydrodynamics, thermo-fluids, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses for propulsion systems.
  • Select, size, and integrate main and auxiliary systems including pumps, fans, valves, and other mechanical components.
  • Develop drawings (with the assistance from CAD drafters) of associated systems.

Qualifications: PE in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. Familiarity with CFRs, ABS, USCG, MARPOL, and SOLAS regulations.

Electrical Engineer (Marine Engineer)

Focus Area: SWBS Group 300 (Electric Plant) and automated control segments of Group 400 (Command & Surveillance).
