The Natural Gas Originator position will be working as a team member assisting in identifying, developing and closing term natural gas sales, purchases, transportation, storage and asset management transactions with wholesale customers (industrial end-users, power generators, local distribution companies, etc.). This position will be part of Repsol’s Gas Trading North America (GTNA) group.
Responsibilities
- Assist in structuring term natural gas sales, supply, and transportation transactions to add value to GTNA’s natural gas marketing and trading business
- Work with GTNA’s natural gas trading team to develop the region’s strategies that position Repsol to profit in the region and then to optimize the value of the portfolio of positions
- Work with the Trading team to expand Repsol’s business and customer base on additional regional pipelines
- Structure asset management arrangements that allow GTNA to fully manage and optimize the customer’s gas supply, storage and transportation assets
- Develop new products and services that allow GTNA to optimize its portfolio of assets
- Work directly with pipeline companies and third parties that hold transportation capacity on regional pipelines to evaluate potential long-term transportation capacity positions for GTNA and make recommendations regarding such capacity positions to Repsol management
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, and experience in presenting ideas and proposals to team members and upper management; must be capable of quickly identifying issues, recommending strategies for resolution, and implementing actions required to resolve such issues
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas origination and/or trading
- Working knowledge of the natural gas transportation grid in the Southeast markets including (but not limited to) the following pipelines Gulf South, Florida gas Transmission, Transco, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Texas Eastern Transmission, as well as Texas and Louisiana Intra-states
- Strong knowledge of pipeline tariffs and all regulations affecting the purchase, sale, and transportation of natural gas
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- The willingness and ability to travel from between 35% to 60% of the time to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
