This Opportunity

Establish and grow WSP's National Aviation Alternate Delivery and Air Cargo capabilities by providing technical leadership, supporting business development, strengthening project delivery, developing talent, and serving as a trusted advisor to Aviation Business & Delivery leadership, Regional Business Leads, and project teams across North America.
Position Summary

The National Director of Aviation Alternate Delivery and Air Cargo shall provide national leadership by combining technical expertise, project delivery leadership, business development, recruiting, mentoring, and practice growth. The position supports airports, commercial airlines, cargo operators, cargo integrators, developers, aviation logistics organizations, and constructor partners. The position also supports the federal government markets such as, but not limited to US Army, Navy, Air Force, US Coard Guard, NOAA, CBP, TSA, and FAA.

This position will be based out of our Florida offices.
Your Impact
  • Project Delivery & Technical Leadership (60-70%)
    • Lead and advise major Air Cargo projects from planning through commissioning.
    • Lead and advise major Aviation Alternate Delivery projects from pre-bid, post-bid design and construction stages.
    • Support project managers in complex technical and delivery challenges.
    • Provide staffing and resource planning support across regions.
    • Promote delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Business Development & Strategic Growth (15-20%)
    • Support National Aviation Business & Delivery leadership and Regional Business Leads in identifying and pursuing opportunities.
    • Participate in capture planning, proposals, interviews, fee development, and client presentations.
    • Develop relationships with airports, airlines, cargo integrators, developers, operators, OEMs, and strategic constructor partners.
    • Support Federal Business as liaison for Aviation work across all regions.
    • Support national market strategy and cross-regional collaboration including Caribbean and Latin America
  • Recruiting, Mentoring & Talent Development (5-10%)
    • Recruit Air Cargo and Alternate Delivery professionals.
    • Mentor staff and develop succession plans.
    • Strengthen the national technical bench.
  • Practice Development & National Leadership (5-10%)
    • Develop delivery standards, best practices, and lessons learned.
    • Promote innovation, quality, and knowledge sharing.
    • Support long-term strategy for expanding Air Cargo, Alternate Delivery, and federal Aviation services.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years leading aviation programs specializing in Air Cargo, Alternate Delivery and Federal programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex airport, airline, cargo systems. alternate delivery and federal projects.
  • Executive-level client relationship and business development experience.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring multidisciplinary teams and growing a technical practice.
