Position Description: Location: This role can be situated anywhere across Canada within proximity to a CGI office to accommodate a hybrid work environment.
As a Middleware DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, management, and lifecycle of core middleware products on a Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) platform. You will implement robust DevOps and GitOps practices using industry-standard CI/CD pipelines and tools. Your work will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise integration components, including IBM MQ, IBM DataPower, Apache Web Server, and the Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
Your future duties and responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Argo CD, and Nexus Repo to automate middleware deployments.
Manage and automate the lifecycle of IBM MQ and IBM DataPower using Kubernetes Operators on Red Hat OpenShift (ROSA).
Deploy and configure Red Hat Apache Web Server (httpd) standalone container images on OpenShift.
Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) on OpenShift using K8s Operators.
Integrate secrets management and security best practices using HashiCorp Cloud Platform Vault Secrets Operator (VSO).
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize middleware performance and platform health on AWS ROSA.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth and secure application delivery.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer, specifically working with MQ DataPower
Proven expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
Hands-on experience with K8s Operators (specifically for IBM MQ, IBM DataPower, and Ansible AAP).
Strong proficiency with CI/CD and GitOps tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Argo CD, and Nexus Repo.
Experience with HashiCorp Vault or Vault Secrets Operator (VSO).
Deep understanding of containerized Red Hat Apache Web Server (httpd) / UBI.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Bachelors degree and or relevant experience.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000-$X120,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
