Full Job Description
PE Systems is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, JM to support the strategic and operational success of NC3 (Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications) programs at Hanscom AFB, MA. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of NC3 missions, policies, and objectives, and will play a critical role in advising management on the effectiveness and sustainability of NC3 operations.

General Function:
  • Apply modeling and simulation expertise to support knowledge management, capability analysis, program planning, and decision-making.
  • Conduct simulation studies covering system performance, engineering trade-offs, effectiveness, cost, and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain modeling standards, best practices, and compliant analytical methods.
  • Analyze complex technical and weapon-system problems using advanced models and analytical techniques.
  • Develop models for structural, thermal, communications, networking, and other system-level analyses.
  • Apply advanced software and systems-engineering methods to solve complex technical problems.
  • Conduct technical investigations, testing, evaluations, and vendor capability assessments.
  • Work with Hanscom AFB analysts and Government customers to identify and validate intelligence data for modeling and simulation.
  • Gather classified threat-system capabilities and performance data to accurately characterize threat models.
  • Support mission-level analysis of military communications networks and their susceptibility to kinetic, EMP, cyber, and other threats.
  • Analyze concepts, alternatives, new technologies, system effectiveness, and lethality.
  • Apply RF and antenna modeling and simulation techniques to assess system performance.
  • Use modeling and simulation tools such as STK, AFSIM, Riverbed Modeler, or similar platforms.
  • Develop software and analytical solutions using MATLAB, Simulink, C++, or similar programming tools.
  • Apply statistical analysis, operations research, and data-management techniques to support technical decisions.
  • Create, update, review, and exercise SysML models in support of systems engineering.
  • Prepare technical documentation, analysis reports, briefings, and other decision-support products.
  • Support command-and-control processes and live-virtual-construct environments.
  • Apply Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Support cybersecurity requirements and maintain compliance with applicable DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies and workforce standards.
  • Analyze communications systems and Modular Open Systems Architectures to support NC3 modernization, including SWAP-C, processing environments, hardware/software considerations, and technology limitations.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
  • BA/BS or Master of Arts/ Master of Science (MA/MS) degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the TS/SCI
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
  • Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position is estimated between $144K-$154K. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. PE Systems considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
