MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Expert to join our team in
Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid position with one day per month onsite.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Advise program managers in planning and executing systems engineering and technical activities such as conducting assessments of technology maturity, conducting technical reviews, assessing and managing technical risks, analyzing technical artifacts, developing requirements, developing technology roadmaps, developing conceptual architectures, developing transition strategies, analyzing business processes, assessing program solutions, conducting trade studies, conducting cost and performance trade analyses, and conducting feasibility analyses
- Develop and execute digital engineering, digital twins, and MBSE solutions for complex systems and missions
- Support the design and optimize digital models for requirements capture and analysis using MBSE, DE, and DT techniques
- Design and model system-of-systems (SoS) architectures, understanding structured expressions and capturing complex interactions and ensuring technical coherence
- Implement systems and digital engineering best practices to improve mission outcomes, enhance stakeholder collaboration, and enable advanced simulations and analyses
- Participate as a team member in conducting independent Technical Assessments of Acquisition Programs by analyzing technical artifacts, identifying sources of technical risk, and assisting the program to develop and implement risk mitigation plans
- Identify technical risks and issues and work with program managers to address technical risks and issues
Required Qualifications: - Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Technical and/or Systems Engineering experience such as conducting technological maturity assessments, conducting technical reviews, managing technical risk, and developing requirements
- Proven experience applying systems and digital/MBSE engineering methods across defense, civilian, or national security domains
- Advanced expertise using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody) and frameworks (e.g., SysML, UPDM, UML, UAF)
- Demonstrated understanding of requirements analysis, development, and management processes
- Experience with systems safety and reliability modeling
Desired Qualifications:- PhD in Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security Acquisition and Systems Engineering policies
- Selected candidate must have knowledge and/or experience with DHS Acquisition Directives and Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (MD102/ALF); knowledge, understanding and/or experience with the DHS (or DoD equivalent) systems engineering policies.
Clearance Requirements:- Must possess active Secret clearance
- Must be able to obtain DHS suitability
Physical Requirements:- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $116,400.00-$194,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
