The
Military Training Analyst - AEGIS Ashore and SSDS Training Analyst will be part of the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Maritime is changing the face of Navy training across the fleet. The Surface Training Systems (STS) Program Office, PMS 339, is the OPNAV single point of contact for strategic program planning, policy, acquisition, life-cycle management, research and development, and technical insertion into all existing and future Navy Surface Training Systems. This position supports PAE Maritime PMS 339 in the acquisition, stand-up, and lifecycle support for current and new combat systems in the Fleet, by means of high-tech trainers, simulators, and training devices for the Navy. Supporting PMS 339, you will focus on the Integrated Virtual Operator Trainer (IVOT) consisting of both AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Operator training, Aegis Ashore (AA) Team Training (AATT), and additional trainers, training devices, and curriculum efforts in the Combat Systems portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AEGIS and or SSDS operations, and a strong background in the Surface Warfare (SUW) Mission Area. In addition, you will drive the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities into the surface training data ecosystem by establishing robust data collection architectures and leveraging performance data generated by these simulators, you will ensure that data-driven insights are utilized to continuously refine training methodologies, accelerate operator proficiency, and ultimately maximize overall Fleet readiness. The candidate should also possess a deep understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and Defense Acquisition.
In this role you will:
- Support the acquisition, stand-up, and lifecycle sustainment of the Integrated Virtual Operator Trainer (IVOT) and AEGIS Ashore Team Trainer (AATT), ensuring technical baselines remain concurrent with the latest AEGIS and SSDS software builds
- Coordinate the technical integration of emerging combat system capabilities into existing training devices and virtualized environments. Coordinate with key stakeholders including USFF, CNSF, OPNAV N96, MDA, NAVSEA PMS 339, IWS 1, and IWS X.
- Assist in the integration of Surface Training Data Ecosystem (STDE) requirements, and into PMS 339 Combat Systems trainers and training devices.
- Manage the development of AI-driven performance metrics utilizing machine learning algorithms to analyze operator decision-making patterns, identifying training gaps in real-time to accelerate Sailor proficiency.
- Maintain a comprehensive roadmap of industry and academia technological breakthroughs, ensuring PMS 339 architectures remain at the leading edge of the 'Surface Training Data Ecosystem' and are positioned to leverage the latest commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) capabilities.
- Oversee the AA training, certification, and qualification processes.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of IVOT and AA training programs.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active DoW Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance eligibility.
- A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience; however, 12 years of operational military experience with AEGIS ASHORE and SSDS systems may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for an additional 2 years of work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the PPBE process and Defense Acquisition, and program management best practices.
- Familiarity with the AEGIS and SSDS organizational stakeholders (USFF, CNSF, OPNAV N96, MDA, NAVSEA PMS 339, IWS 1, IWS X, IWS 80).
- Strong understanding of MPT processes.
- Experience with AATT and the AA training, certification, and qualification process.
- Prior Navy experience, preferably in AA operations at the O5-Command or Senior Enlisted level (previous experience as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO).
- The ability to travel 10%.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- An Active TS/SCI clearance.
