Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Tax associate to join our Charlotte, New York, or Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have four to six years of experience in transactional tax matters. Preferred candidates will have experience with renewable energy projects and credits, including tax equity and credit transfers, or other energy tax matters. An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred.
Areas of preferred expertise include:
• Experience in drafting and reviewing partnership, joint venture, and limited liability company agreements.
• Experience with tax aspects of equity and debt financing transactions.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating tax provisions in merger agreements, stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, and related agreements.
Candidates will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We require strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service.
Base Compensation $270,000 - $ 365,000 / year
The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
