The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to our Structural Engineering team. This opportunity is remote and/or hybrid-friendly that can be performed from a wide range of locations across the US.

Position Summary:
Tetra Tech's High Performance Building division is currently seeking a full-timeMid Level Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working on challenging projects of various construction types in a wide range of industry sectors. The successful candidate will work with other Tetra Tech team members in the delivery of company project initiatives related to structural engineering. The ideal candidate enjoys working as a team player in a flexible environment and seeing work followed through during onsite visits.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support the structural design and analysis of facilities projects under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Lead portions of design work and contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform field investigations and assist in writing condition assessment reports.
  • Coordinate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate drafting efforts as needed.
  • Model structural systems in Revit and assist with BIM coordination.
  • Design in compliance with local and state codes, and support adherence to Federal UFC guidelines.
  • Use structural engineering software such as RISA to perform analysis and design tasks.
  • Assist in managing project schedules and deliverables to help ensure on-time completion.


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited college / university with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in the A&E plus govt contracting/ consulting industry.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; must be eligible to sit for the PE exam within 12 months.
  • Working knowledge of structural steel, composite deck, reinforced concrete, and masonry design.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering tools such as Revit, RISA-3D, SAP2000, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required for this position
  • Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed. (5% percent of the time)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • LEEP AP Certification is a plus
  • Experience and / or interest in sustainable design desired.
  • Experience or familiarity with federal projects and associated regulations is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while preparing drawings and project documentation.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout office or project site environments.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move materials, equipment, or documents weighing up to 10 pounds; infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Requires use of hands and fingers for operating a computer, drafting software, and standard office equipment.
  • Requires visual ability to review engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Additional Information:
  • Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or in-office work, may be available based on business needs and employee performance.
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, education, experience, professional licensure, technical expertise, and other job-related factors.
