Full Job Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level IV&V Software/Systems Engineer to support advanced defense and engineering programs. This role involves developing and applying analytical tools, performing system-level evaluations, and contributing to mission-critical solutions in a fast-paced, technical environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in MATLAB and Java, experience with simulation frameworks, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.

As an Mid-Level IV&V Software/Systems Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and reviewing plans and reports to ensure system and software operations comply with requirements and design specifications.


  • Develop and maintain tools using MATLAB and Java to support data analysis and system evaluation


  • Perform system-level analysis to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities


  • Performing detailed performance analyses, generating actionable insights, and recommending architectural or algorithmic improvements.


  • Translate technical requirements into simulation configurations and test cases within virtualized environments


  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, bottlenecks, and system inefficiencies


  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability


  • Support troubleshooting efforts across distributed systems and infrastructure


  • Contribute technical documentation, reports, and customer deliverables


  • Assist in planning and executing engineering tasks to meet program deadlines


Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.


  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Experience with system analysis, data processing, or radar/sensor systems.


  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


  • Experience supporting system testing, validation, and/or verification efforts.


  • Ability to participate in customer meetings, document findings, and remediate issues.


Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work with two or more of Ada, C, C++, Python, and Java.


  • Knowledge of DOORS, Requirements Analysis processes, and/or Systems Engineering.


  • Experience with the Linux and Windows operating systems.


  • Experience with system analysis, data processing, or radar/sensor systems.


  • Experience in missile defense or aerospace systems.


  • Experience working with distributed systems or server-based architecture.
