Position Summary

The Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The role specializes in migrating functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures; designing and implementing client-specific cloud solutions; and ensuring cloud environments are secure, scalable, resilient, and responsive to mission and user requirements. This position also supports infrastructure automation, cloud architecture planning, testing, optimization, and the operationalization of technology solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the migration of functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
  • Design, plan, and implement client-specific cloud solutions.
  • Identify appropriate cloud providers.
  • Ensure the cloud network is properly sized and responsive to user demands.
  • Scale cloud services to support growing demands.
  • Coordinate with business owners and stakeholders to determine and support growth plans.
  • Monitor cloud network usage.
  • Implement effective security strategies on cloud networks.
  • Implement fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Build infrastructure automation to ensure rapid delivery of system and application updates.
  • Perform testing and fine-tuning to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Provide architectural vision, strategy, and roadmaps, and work with Engineers and Platform Operations staff to operationalize technology solutions.
  • Apply strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an active DoW Secret security clearance.
  • 1+ year of directly related experience.
  • Must understand cloud delivery models, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
  • Must have experience with enterprise server operating systems/environments, including RHEL 7 and/or 8 and Windows Server 2019 and/or higher.
  • Must have experience implementing cybersecurity best practices.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification.
  • Must have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure, AWS, and/or Cloud Certified Solution Architect certification.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
