Our client, a premier communications industry leader, is seeking a MicroStrategy Developer to join their growing IT team in Charlotte, NC on a full time, permanent basis.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Transform business requirements into sustainable BI solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy reports and dashboards
- Understand MicroStrategy architecture and how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model
- Expertise in transforming data into visually appealing dashboards that are easily consumed
- Proficient in MicroStrategy's mobile dashboarding solutions for iPad and Android
- Successfully extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse in a sustainable and supportable way
- Tune mobile and desktop reporting strategy for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or cubing/caching strategy
- Write SQL scripts against the Teradata warehouse to support analysis, discovery, and testing of reports
- Understand the cable industry and understand business context of the data
- Understand and execute proper development practices through a standard BI SDLC
- Understand the fundamentals of a dimensional data warehouse model and how to optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy
- Support and document reports in a way that maximizes end user efficiency
- Quickly iterate and prototype on key business initiatives to arrive at a finished product that aligns with end user expectations
- Contribute reporting ideas and innovations to business customers through delivery
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge- Expertise in the entire MicroStrategy v10 toolset and Teradata 14.10
- Strong SQL skills
- Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
- Self-motivated with an ability to confidently execute independently with little direction
- Ability to analyze and apply critical thinking to resolve complex issues
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize requests and set expectations
- Knowledge in data warehousing concepts and star-shema architecture

Education - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or business related field, or related work experience
