Pay Range: $34.89 - $50.63 per hour

Summary:
The position serves as a lead strategic voice and coach for social media activities at Rush. Evangelize regarding the important role social media plays in promoting the brand and growing business. Guide and build the community of social media practitioners throughout Rush; work closely with social media practitioners in Rush University, at Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Copley Medical Center, in the Department of Philanthropy and among all faculty and staff at Rush. Champions the practice of social media at Rush, and coaches and trains faculty and staff at the Medical Center and throughout the Rush System. Supervises a social media specialist and collaborates with other professionals to make social media an integral part of marketing and communications efforts for Rush. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and I CARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree.
• Five years experience planning and executing social media and digital solutions.
• Subject matter expertise regarding the overall social landscape, including understanding of the relative merits and nuances of different social media platforms; curiosity and drive to learn about new applications and forums as they emerge.
• Ability to apply the full range of social media tools and functionalities to meet marketing and communication goals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence leadership and collaborate with employees at all levels. Must be comfortable meeting with and counseling physicians, nurses, faculty, top-level administrators and others on effective and responsible use of social media.
• Familiarity with social media etiquette.
• Excellent oral, written communications and presentation skills.
• Ability to manipulate and format images using Photoshop.
• Deep knowledge of search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media metrics and web analytics (preferably Google Analytics).

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree with a major in English, journalism, marketing or a related field.
• Experience at an academic medical center or institution of higher education.
• Google Analytics.

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee social strategy and creative execution. Lead social media efforts for Rush, including developing campaigns, doing day-to-day posts on Rush's social media platforms, and advising faculty and staff wishing to represent Rush through social media channels. Maintain and promote adherence to Rush social media policy.
2. Social media evangelism. Serve as lead strategic voice and coach for social media activities at Rush. Evangelize regarding the important role social media plays in promoting the brand and growing business. Guide and build the community of social media practitioners throughout Rush; work closely with social media practitioners in Rush University, at Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Copley Medical Center, in the Department of Philanthropy and among all faculty and staff at Rush.
3. Manage social media specialist. Manage and oversee training and development of social media specialist. Review content created by the social media specialist and other contributors within and outside of the Department of Marketing.
4. Engagement with Rush's online community of friends and followers. Respond swiftly and professionally to customers' and followers' feedback, whether positive or negative. Coach and train others in handling feedback. Project Rush's social "personality": friendly and approachable, but also discreet and professional.
5. Monitor social media platforms, review sites and other online forums. Regularly monitor Rush's social media properties, review sites and other online forums for consumer feedback and potentially actionable and damaging comments. Develop standards and response protocols in collaboration with the patient satisfaction team, corporate compliance, human resources, risk management, legal affairs, information services and other stakeholders.
6. Manage online listings. Maintain online listings for Rush locations, practices and providers with current data, images, descriptions and other enhancements.
7. Social media metrics and reporting. Define, manage and report on key performance indicators for social media; prepare and present in-depth reports within and outside the department on a regular basis.
8. Interdepartmental collaboration to meet marketing and communication goals. Collaborate with and educate colleagues within the department to develop campaigns that align social media with overall marketing efforts. Forge partnerships with marketing and content strategists, media relations, internal communications, University leadership and others. Partner with Rush's ad agency of record, search engine optimization (SEO) / search engine marketing (SEM) consultant and web developers to integrate social media tactics in larger marketing initiatives.
9. External relationships. Manage day-to-day relationships with third-party vendors, including contract renewals and development of new service areas. Work to position Rush as an innovative national leader in health care social media through participation in and presentations at local and national meetings.
