Full Job Description
Position Overview:
As our MES Operations Analyst you will support the digital transformation of Operations by helping transition legacy paper-based workflows into standardized MES-enabled processes within Solumina. Working closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Project Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, you will help translate shop-floor operational requirements into effective MES functionality while serving as a key resource for new system capabilities, process mapping, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Day to Day as our MES Operations Analyst:
  • Analyze operational workflows and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement out-of-the-box Solumina MES capabilities to improve productivity, visibility, and compliance.
  • Represent Operations (Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality) in MES-related initiatives and discussions.
  • Gather and document requirements for new MES functionality aligned with business needs.
  • Support development and execution of UAT test cases and validation activities.
  • Assist with data readiness activities including master data validation, reporting alignment, and cutover preparation.
  • Provide on-floor support during go-live and hypercare to ensure successful user adoption.
  • Maintain MES training materials, process documentation, and operational work instructions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline (Software Engineering considered with relevant manufacturing/operations exposure).
  • 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or quality (co-op/internship experience accepted).
  • Exposure to MES, ERP, QMS, or other digital manufacturing systems is an asset.
  • Strong skills in process mapping and workflow documentation.
  • Industrial engineering knowledge including simulation, optimization, bottleneck analysis, takt time analysis, or time studies.
  • Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into structured system (MES) inputs.
  • Programming experience is an asset but not required.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
