What You'll Do As a Medical Equipment Planner II, you'll lead complex planning efforts-translating clinical needs into coordinated equipment scopes, budgets, and specifications; guiding user groups and design teams; and stewarding procurement and installation to deliver safe, efficient healthcare environments.
- Establish and maintain client relationships; serve as a professional interface throughout planning and delivery.
- Lead visioning and preplanning with clients; develop initial and updated medical equipment budgets and roadmaps.
- Plan equipment room-by-room using ESP; incorporate client standards; identify design/equipment conflicts early.
- Develop and facilitate user group meetings across SD, DD, CD, CA, and Procurement & Equipment Management phases.
- Coordinate design-team and OAC meetings; communicate the Medical Equipment Responsibilities Matrix to all parties.
- Organize vendor presentations/site visits; develop and analyze RFPs; support pricing negotiations as requested.
- Review drawings in Revit/AutoCAD and coordinate equipment requirements; maintain clear communication with architects and contractors.
- Lead equipment inventories; evaluate reuse vs. replacement; maintain knowledge of emerging technologies.
- Create and maintain accurate project equipment lists within established standards and guidelines.
- Develop procurement delivery strategies; manage purchase orders, storage, delivery, installation, and operational verification when contracted.
- Manage project equipment budgets; obtain approvals and client sign-offs; provide close-out packages and final reports.
- Support move management activities and participate in industry conferences/trade shows to remain current on products and technology.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or related experience in the Healthcare environment or Clinical arena
- 3-4 or more years of medical equipment planning experience or related experience preferred
- Experience planning large complex projects in the acute care setting
- Understanding of design and construction schedules and the ability to coordinate equipment programming with building design and construction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of appropriate use/allocation of medical equipment for direct patient care and clinical workflows.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings in Revit and AutoCAD; understanding of construction documents and schedules.
- Budget skills-ability to create and maintain project medical equipment budgets with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written communication and speech clarity; strong presentation, organization, active listening, and customer focus.
