Job Description:

Adolfson and Peterson Construction is currently hiring for a MEP Engineer to be based out of our office in Dallas supporting projects across our Gulf States Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
    • Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace.
  • Provide assistance throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results.
    • Assist in the design, planning, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection work on the assigned project. Coordinate the project activities with local, city, state, and county codes and officials.
    • Serve as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
    • Provide technical guidance to Superintendents and Project Managers.
    • Prepare accurate quantity surveys and help create MEP price checks.
    • CollaBorate with project teams in the development of budgets and schedules.
  • Provide assistance throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results.
  • Assist in review of project plans to ensure constructability and cost feasibility; assist with project risk assessments.
    • Read and comprehend drawings and specifications and anticipate items not clearly depicted.
    • Collaborate with the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and project teams to help resolve MEP issues prior to or during construction.
    • Help prepare above-ceiling and any other model-based coordination, drawings, and models as needed.
  • Provide assistance throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results.
  • Participate collaboratively in team processes among project participants.
    • Participate in conceptual and schematic design meetings.
    • Attend all M/E pre-bid meetings and commissioning meetings.
    • Compose and issue meeting minutes.
    • Help develop RFPs and work with MEP subcontractors.
    • work closely with client/owner and the project team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • History of experience and proven results including:
    • Associates degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field work and 3+ years of related MEP and commercial construction experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
    • LEED certification preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other 3D software.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work.
  • Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships.

Estimated Pay:

$72,100.00 - $107,700.00
