What Success Looks Like:Your ImpactThe Membership Sales and Engagement Manager is responsible for growing and retaining World Trade Center Seattle membership while achieving annual membership, sponsorship, and revenue goals. This role develops new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, while managing the full membership lifecycle from lead generation and onboarding to renewals and upgrade.
This position serves as the primary relationship manager for members and prospective members, maintains accurate membership and sales data within the CRM system, and collaborates with marketing to increase awareness, engagement, and lead generation. The role also supports member advisory committees, promotes member organizations, and represents World Trade Center Seattle throughout the business and nonprofit communities.
The position exercises discretion and independent judgment in developing membership growth and retention strategies, prioritizing prospective member opportunities, recommending membership and sponsorship solutions, structuring proposals within established parameters, evaluating partnership opportunities, allocating approved marketing and programming resources, and resolving significant member-relations matters. The team member evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations to leadership, and implements approved strategies with limited day-to-day supervision.
Essential Duties
- Develop and execute the World Trade Center Seattle membership sales plan to achieve annual membership, sponsorship, and revenue goals.
- Independently evaluate and prioritize membership prospects based on strategic fit, revenue potential, engagement opportunity, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Generate new membership opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, outreach, events, and community relationships.
- Manage the full membership sales cycle, including lead generation, qualification, presentations, proposals, follow-up, closing, renewals, upgrades, and onboarding.
- Develop membership and sponsorship proposals and negotiate business terms within established authority and approved pricing parameters
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve established membership, sales, and revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue prospective members across businesses, nonprofits, associations, consulates, civic organizations, and key industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing members, business leaders, community organizations, and strategic partners.
- Design and continuously improve the full member journey, from personalized onboarding through ongoing engagement, creating memorable touchpoints that strengthen member satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain a strong understanding of WTC Seattle membership offerings, pricing, benefits, programs, and value proposition.
- Maintain accurate membership and sales data within the CRM including reporting on pipeline, sales activity, conversions, membership trends, and revenue.
- Analyze pipeline, conversion, retention, sponsorship, engagement, and revenue data and use findings to establish priorities and recommend corrective action.
- Recommend changes to membership offerings, pricing, benefits, programming, and retention strategies based on member feedback, sales results, market conditions, and financial performance

- Partner with Marketing, to develop and manage the annual WTC Seattle marketing plan and budget, ensuring resources and marketing channels are effectively used to increase awareness, generate qualified leads, communicate member value, and strengthen engagement.
- Support member-led advisory committees, including the Nonprofit and Business Development committees.
- Develop and oversee an annual calendar of member programming and events, including receptions, networking events, wine tastings, and new member events with Bell Harbor event planning team. Strengthen engagement with existing offerings and introduce curated, industry-specific experiences.
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving significant or sensitive member-relations matters, escalating issues to senior leadership when appropriate
- Serve as an ambassador for WTC Seattle by welcoming members and guests and representing the organization at community, industry, and professional events.
- Promote nonprofit members and their missions through WTC Seattle's communication channels and community platform.
- Serve as the principal subject-matter resource to leadership regarding membership trends, prospective-member opportunities, member engagement, and retention risks.
- Create member profiles, nonprofit spotlights, testimonials, and success stories to demonstrate the value of membership.
- Manage the WTC Seattle membership inbox and member communications.
- Provide exceptional hospitality and member service, including dining reservations, member hosting, and support for in-house member events.
- Support member dining, welcoming members and guests during priority periods. Support daytime and occasional evening membership events based on business needs.

Qualifications
Required
- Experience in membership sales, business development, hospitality sales, association sales, or a related field, with demonstrated responsibility for achieving individual sales targets.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, relationship development, and closing sales.
- Strong networking, communication, presentation, and follow-up skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment and operate standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while attending meetings, facilitating workshops, and performing computer-based work.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing with team members, executives, owners, and external partners.
- Ability to occasionally move and transport materials weighing up to 15 pounds, such as training materials, presentation equipment, or meeting supplies.
- Ability to conduct site visits at hospitality properties, including walking through guest-facing and back-of-house operational areas.
- Due to the strategic nature of the role, the person in this role is expected to be reasonably available beyond normal business hours when necessary to support payroll deadlines, systems implementation, operational issues, audits, or other leadership needs.
Work Location and Onsite PresenceThis is an onsite position expected to work at World Trade Center Seattle five days per week, subject to business needs and approved travel to community, member, industry, and professional events. Regular and reliable onsite presence is an essential function of the position because the role is responsible for in-person member and prospect engagement, facility tours, relationship development, member hosting, real-time service recovery, event and programming coordination, and collaboration with onsite hospitality, dining, event-planning, marketing, and operational teams.
