Role ImpactYou'll help build Prime Agent, our open-source coding and research agent. This is a generalist software engineering role spanning product development and the underlying agent systems. You'll own features end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring, and ship at the pace of an early-stage company tackling one of the most important problems in AI.
This role is based in our San Francisco office. Candidates must be based in San Francisco and work in person. This is not a remote role and is not open in other locations.
Core Responsibilities- Build intuitive interfaces for working with agents and managing their tasks
- Own features end-to-end, from design through deployment and operation
- Work with users to understand their needs and turn feedback into product improvements
- Work closely with teams across the Prime ecosystem to build cloud agents, self-improving loops, and integrations for traces and post-training
- Work closely with researchers to turn new agent capabilities into reliable product features
- Contribute to internal tooling, automation, and developer experience improvements
Technical Requirements- Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript and Python
- Experience building developer tools, dashboards, platform products, and working with agent harnesses
- Strong product judgment and attention to user experience, with the ability to turn complex capabilities into intuitive workflows
- Experience building reliable systems with asynchronous execution and real-time interactions
- Awareness of what's happening at the frontier - new models, agent capabilities, and tooling - and the ability to translate that into product decisions
- A bias toward shipping, ownership of production code, and pragmatic engineering judgment
Nice to Have- Experience building coding agents, agent harnesses, or developer tools powered by LLMs
- CLI or terminal UI development
- WebSocket / real-time systems experience
- Open-source contributions
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup
