The position As Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Diabetes, you will be a strategic field-based partner, building credible scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic institutions, payers and clinical investigators. You will translate Novo Nordisk's medical strategy into impactful engagement that elevates the standard of diabetes care in Canada.
Day-to-day your tasks will include:
- Engaging top KOLs, academic centres, major hospitals, public and private payers, and clinical investigators to apply scientific and clinical data in support of Novo Nordisk Canada's strategic priorities;
- Developing, communicating and continuously updating Scientific Communication Platforms (SCPs) for current and pipeline products, aligned with national Medical Affairs strategies;
- Providing scientific expertise and guidance at advisory boards, Regional Consultant Meetings (RCMs) and scientific congresses - including representing Novo Nordisk through poster and oral presentations;
- Supporting pre-launch activities by raising awareness of pipeline products among HCPs, payers and associations within your assigned territory;
- Acting as an internal therapeutic-area resource, partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Operations and Medical Affairs;
- Recommending and supporting investigators for clinical protocols and Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs), and capturing competitive insights from the field;
- Managing your territory budget to maximise scientific and medical impact with customers.
Qualifications We are looking for a scientifically credible, relationship-driven professional who can move seamlessly between the clinic, the conference hall and the cross-functional team room. You will bring with you:
- An advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD);
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, or a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a scientific or medical discipline; prior MSL experience and clinical practice or research in diabetes or related therapy areas are strongly desired;
- Excellent therapeutic-area and product knowledge, combined with strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills;
- Outstanding communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage KOLs, HCPs and internal stakeholders with clarity and credibility;
- Fluency in both English and French, strong business acumen and demonstrated office software proficiency;
- A valid driver's license, residence in Southeastern Ontario (e.g., Ottawa, Kingston) and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight stays within territory and occasional travel to the US.
About the department Within Novo Nordisk Canada Inc. (NNCI), you will join the Clinical Development, Medical & Regulatory (CDMR) department and an experienced MSL team that combines scientific rigour with field agility. Together we shape the medical conversation around diabetes in Canada - building trusted relationships, addressing unmet needs and ensuring that science remains at the heart of every decision.
Salary: For this role the Annual Base Salary ranges from $116,680.00 - $166,680.00

Incentives: Based on the role's level and other factors, the salary package may include short-term (STI) and/or long-term (LTI) incentives.
