Job Description:Job SummarySeeking a Medical Oncologist for a community and academic-focused position providing inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams, treating a diverse patient population, and participating in clinical, academic, and research-related activities. Candidates will support growing oncology services across multiple healthcare locations and contribute to patient-centered cancer treatment programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care.
- Diagnose and manage patients with cancer and blood disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in departmental clinical activities and patient management initiatives.
- Support clinical and translational research activities when applicable.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Participate in academic and educational activities, including collaboration with medical trainees and faculty.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient care initiatives.
- Participate in on-call coverage and additional clinical responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements / Skills- Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology required.
- Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
- Strong clinical knowledge in oncology and hematology treatment practices.
- Ability to manage both inpatient and outpatient oncology services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
- Interest in clinical research and academic medicine preferred.
- Ability to manage complex patient cases and maintain high-quality patient care.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to compassionate and patient-centered care.
