AFCENT NOSC Lead Engineer provides senior technical leadership, engineering oversight, and operational support for enterprise network and server infrastructure. The role leads and guides technical teams supporting operating systems, Active Directory, messaging, DNS, storage, databases, virtualization, boundary systems, patch management, and enterprise services.
Key Responsibilities- Integrate and support Windows/Unix/Linux operating systems, Active Directory, messaging, DNS, storage, databases, and server services.
- Provide technical direction and oversight to database, boundary systems, patch management, directory services, storage, and virtualization teams.
- Analyze network performance metrics and identify performance issues.
- Develop bandwidth and network security trend reports.
- Recommend solutions to resolve, prevent, and improve network problems.
- Manage DoD network intrusion systems and information assurance tools.
- Support Certification Authority (CA) and VPN technologies.
- Develop and maintain IT systems concepts of operations and engineering plans.
- Provide enterprise networking, LAN, WAN, and IT management support.
- Support server infrastructure, storage, high availability, DNS, DHCP, remote access, and network connectivity.
- Manage Microsoft users and permissions and support Active Directory domain services.
- Support technical documentation, reports, briefings, and training.
- Provide CONUS/OCONUS deployment and TDY support as required.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant IT experience, or 7+ years of relevant IT experience.
- Experience with firewall, Unix/Linux, and HBSS technologies.
- Knowledge of network threats and information assurance.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server installation and server imaging.
- Experience with storage solutions, high availability, DNS, DHCP, remote access, and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Experience managing Microsoft users, permissions, and Active Directory.
- Experience designing server infrastructure and troubleshooting network and user-data issues.
- VCTA/VMware experience.
- CCNA or Network+ certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
