Responsibilities - Own mechanical subsystem layout and design for automated material handling systems, with minimal oversight. - Select and specify conveyor types and third-party equipment to meet project requirements. - Collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and structural engineering teams for integrated solutions. - Develop 3D models, perform clash detection, and produce complete installation and customer approval drawings. - Manage schedules, deliverables, and quality standards for mechanical project areas. - Coordinate with construction and on-site teams, resolving field issues and supporting installation activities. - Lead installation support, site surveys, audits, and commissioning efforts. - Validate system calculations, engineer custom parts, and ensure all designs meet safety and performance standards. - Mentor junior engineers, review work, assign tasks, and provide structured feedback to support technical growth. - Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication of engineering decisions and project progress. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering. - 3-5 years of direct engineering experience with demonstrated project execution capabilities. - Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360, ACC. - Hands-on experience with material handling, conveyor systems, and warehouse layouts. - Strong project planning, time management, and deliverables tracking skills. - Proven mentorship or technical guidance experience. - Exceptional problem-solving, spatial analysis, and decision-making abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. Preferred Skills - Background in material handling, logistics, or construction industries. - Conceptual thinker with ability to generate detailed system designs. - Effective in managing time-sensitive situations independently. - Ownership mindset with a focus on team development. - Ability to delegate and oversee junior team members. - Patient and clear communicator for technical mentorship.
