Job DescriptionThe Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Field Construction Engineering organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-disciplined group of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to interface with system/ infrastructure engineers and architect engineering and construction subcontractors and provide technical knowledge for the execution of projects at the Naval Reactors Facility located on the Idaho National Laboratory site.
This role works within a project execution team environment with a Project Manager, Contract Administrator, Project Analyst, Construction Oversight personnel, and other Engineers to deliver projects in the construction portfolio ranging from short duration (
Required Combination of Knowledge and SkillBachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills- Knowledge of infrastructure design and construction
- Knowledge of industry and building trade practice, techniques, codes and standards
- Experience with contracting construction services, ideally both at NRF and outside of NNL
- Experience with construction project scoping, development, and execution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer aided design (CAD) drafting software
- Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel, management, subcontractors, and government oversight

Pay Range$106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually
