About This OpportunityWe are seeking a
Senior Engineer I who engages with our clients at a high level to assess their operations, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations to
maximize energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Sr Engineer I takes the lead to consult, gather data, create optimization models of industrial systems and write feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects, while leading overall management of projects. The Sr Engineer I provides mentorship and contributes to peer support and quality control review.
What You Will Be Doing - Lead and manage high-profile industrial energy efficiency projects, ensuring accountability for scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Analyze industrial systems and quantify energy savings using accepted methodologies, calculation tools, and spreadsheets.
- Engage onsite with clients to understand equipment and operations, identify efficiency opportunities, and recommend improvements.
- Communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences-presenting complex technical issues, building consensus, and producing client-ready reports.
- Document and validate performance through data collection/logging; maintain utility program compliance knowledge; and mentor peers through technical review.
This is a full-time, exempt position located in the
Salt Lake City area. There is an expectation of about
20% travel for this role.
QualificationsApplicants for this role are
required to have:
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
- 5-8 years of energy efficiency engineering experience
- Expert technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and decision-making.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail and understanding of internal policies/procedures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated to achieve project results.

Compensation & BenefitsThe full salary range for this
full-time, exempt position in Salt Lake City is $96,000 - $145,000. At Cascade, transparency and fairness are core to how we work.
