Mechanical Engineer Design Support

Position Summary The CEO Mechanical Engineer (Design Support) will deliver high-quality, timely mechanical engineering design support services and deliverables. Work includes developing solutions for complex mechanical systems, supporting technical reviews, providing expertise for operations and maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards while meeting strict performance thresholds (documents with only minor errors and revisions completed in 6#8804;2 days).
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems Design Support: Develop solutions and designs for complex mechanical systems related to DoD/commercial facilities, infrastructure, and utility systems (HVAC system, water distribution systems and/or pumps).
Design Management & Technical Reviews: Review A/E and construction deliverables for functional/technical accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance; provide written recommendations within one week. Provide technical expertise for technical interchange meetings, presentations, agendas, and meeting minutes.
Requirement Development & Project Support: Support requirement definition, parametric cost estimates, and technical packages for operations and maintenance projects. Assist with design and project development documentation suitable for construction or repair execution.
Technical & Administrative Support: Maintain files, organize documentation, and provide administrative support. Deliver monthly status reports and support Quality Control Plan requirements. Use government ADP systems and maintain data repositories while handling only CUI-level information.
Compliance & Professional Standards: Ensure all work avoids inherently governmental functions; do not make binding decisions, obligate funds, or sign contracts on behalf of the Government. Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance while on duty. Complete required training (Level 1 Anti-Terrorism, Information Assurance certification per DoDM 8140.03) and maintain current CAC and base access.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum. Experience: Minimum five (5) years developing solutions and designs to complex mechanical systems related to DoD or commercial facilities, infrastructure, and utility systems (HVAC system, water distribution systems and/or pumps). Citizenship & Access: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), successfully complete NACI/SF85 background investigation (position of trust for unescorted base access and system access), and complete required Information Assurance certification. No access to classified information; CUI handling only. No foreign nationals permitted. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use relevant design/calculation software for mechanical and construction management tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder coordination. Valid U.S. driver's license (for on-base operations).
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting U.S. Air Force or DoD operations and maintenance mechanical/HVAC projects. Familiarity with UFC, energy conservation practices, and federal facility processes.
Work Environment, Schedule & Location: On-site at Hurlburt Field, Florida (desk space and government-furnished computer with unclassified network access in Building 90053). No routine travel outside the Hurlburt Field perimeter is expected.
Hours: Core base hours 0730-1630, Monday-Friday. Contractor may adjust hours as needed for timely completion at no additional cost to the Government. No work required on 11 federal holidays. Performance is not mission-essential during crises unless directed in writing.
