Mechanical Engineer

The Opportunity

Our Global Manufacturing Client has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative engineering team designing custom capital equipment, precision tooling, and fixtures used in advanced manufacturing applications. You'll have the chance to take designs from concept through fabrication, assembly, startup, and troubleshooting-working closely with project management, purchasing, manufacturing, and global engineering teams along the way.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of 3D design, 2D drafting, problem-solving, hands-on machine support, and cross-functional collaboration. Your work will have a direct impact on the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of sophisticated equipment delivered to customers around the world.

What You'll Do
  • Design and draft customer-specific capital equipment using SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
  • Develop mechanical designs, assemblies, components, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Design custom tooling and fixtures for a variety of advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Maintain change logs and issue tracking throughout the equipment build process.
  • Follow established engineering change processes to identify and resolve design issues.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting throughout the build process.
  • Adapt and convert standard machine designs to meet specific customer and project requirements.
  • Partner with purchasing and suppliers to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and clarification to vendors and internal teams.
  • Work with Project Management to ensure customer requirements and expectations are incorporated into tooling and equipment designs.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams on projects that improve machine design, fabrication, and standardization.
  • Help evaluate product families and establish standardized component lists to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Support aftermarket teams with technical assistance related to customer equipment, parts, and onsite machine issues.
  • Safeguard proprietary engineering information and maintain accurate, controlled design data.
  • Contribute to other engineering initiatives and projects as business needs evolve.

What You Bring

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of 3D modeling experience using SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER.
  • 3-5 years of 2D drafting experience using SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and AutoCAD.
  • Hands-on experience designing or assembling fixtures is preferred.
  • Experience with fabrication processes. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.

Salary Range $79K-$83K
