Test Engineering Technologist Backfill Salary: $38.50- $45 per hour Our Development Engineering team is a global engineering team focused on developing new products, technologies that will deliver robust repeatable solutions for our customers. We develop these solutions through building on our core products and creating new products to enter new markets. To accelerate time-to-market with effective solutions that keep our customers in the lead, we leverage a powerful risk prioritized product development process.The Test Engineering Technologist plays a critical role by working within the Innovation and Sustainability Team, helping to bring physical testing results to component and system designs. This is a great role within Husky and the successful candidate would be you are able to see many facets of the company gaining a deep understanding of the developmental engineering process. This role can therefore also be a great foundation for future roles. Key Responsibilities -Validation of injection molding machine by bridging Control, Electrical and Mechanical systems. - Typical validation items include new/improved electrical and mechanical feature validation, component validation, user case software validation, service issue root cause determination, risk assessments. - Identify gaps, suggest solutions and lead enhancement to validation procedures, processes and practices. - Creating test plans, building systems for testing - Stress system, sub-system and components through development of normal and extraordinary user test cases. "Break it" testing - Ensuring instrumentation operation complies with quality parameters - Utilize various computer systems to trend and analyze data, identify failure modes - Reporting results and conclusions both in formally documented reports and effective presentations - Interact on a regular basis with service, manufacturing, assembly and production test; Support product launch - Determine/support future enhancements/improvements on our machines and molds working with new designs and prototypes. - Participate in project design reviews and risk assessments and develop testing and validation strategy based on risks and product claims - Service support - assist in the resolution of significant service projects - Think as voice of customer in validation process. - Refine internal product knowledge based on performance/results outside of the Husky testing labs EDUCATION -BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering EXPERIENCE 'Required : - 5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems - 5+ years of experience working in project teams, with both external and internal customers - +5 years experiences with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic system with data acquisition systems - Excellent understanding of fluid power and electrical schematic Desired: - Prior experience in plastics industry, particularly in using injection molding equipment - Experience in using statistical and probability methods and tools - previous experiences in accelerated life tests QUALIFICATIONS - Strong organizational skills - Demonstrated knowledge of statistical, mathematical, and engineering concepts - Strong knowledge in electrical , mechanical and fluid power systems - Ability to work independently and to be part of a multidisciplinary team - Ability to balance multiple initiatives with unique schedules and needs - Superb analytical and problem-solving skills. - Fundamental system understanding of the injection molding process and plastic resin families, and the auxiliary equipment commonly used
