Job Summary

Works with leadership to provide customer analytics and performance reporting that drive business priorities for internal parners in Marketing and Brand Experience, Consumer, Community and Wholesale Banking lines of business. Designs and maintains customer and segment scorecards, dashboards and reports that offer visibility into our customer base. Develops and delivers customer behavioral analyses that answer critical business questions, validate assumptions and debunk myths. Works with customer household, account and transaction data to support, execute, and measure business strategies to drive revenue, improve customer experience, and reduce costs. Champions and facilitates the use of customer data in marketing, data strategy, analytic innovation, database marketing and performance measurement. Partners effectively with internal technology resources and third-party data and/or research providers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs data mining and customer analysis. Researches, compiles, and performs complex analysis on critical customer, account, transactional, and or behavioral data
  • Researches, compiles, and performs complex analysis on critical customer, account, and transactional data using tools such as SQL Assistant, Databricks, Power BI, etc.
  • Remains current on best practices of business analytics trends, techniques and tools. May identify emerging trends in technology and analysis as opportunities for future business growth and development.
  • Manages multiple assignments simultaneously and completes assignments within established time frames. Keeps all facts straight and communicates key points succinctly.
  • Maintains necessary processes, controls and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Leverages multiple internal or external information sources and ensures adherence to data management/data governance regulations and policies.
  • Creates engaging and informative presentations that communicate results to management and executive audiences.
  • Presents complex material to all levels of management in a digestible, consumable manner.
  • Builds effective business partnerships with all levels of team members.
  • Serves as a liaison between business units, technology teams, finance teams and other support teams.
  • Designs and promotes customer data standards and best practices; Establish effective and efficient processes.
  • Participates in major programs and initiatives with an eye towards having necessary procedures and measurements in place to ensure the best possible experience for the customer.
  • May work closely with the analytics' data science team to identify location, structure, and function of data related to modeling projects. Tracks down programs, data sources and crafting queries to power programs.
  • May be responsible for designing and developing data visualization solutions according to business requirements to effectively communicate insights and provide performance measurement solutions to business decision makers.
  • May be asked to perform regression, risk and driver analyses to answer business questions and works with data scientists to drive the strategic development of more complex audience sampling and predictive models in support of the business.
  • May supervise lower-level analystics team members. Provides leadership, direction and growth opportunities, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. May participate in interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance if requested by division leadership. May work with division leadership to resolve more complex team member-related issues.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline and/or business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Years of Experience:

  • 6-8 years


Minimum experience:

  • Six or more years of hands-on data wrangling, reporting, analytics, data programming, or technical experience in consumer data and marketing database technology


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the industry's standard business practices, products, and services
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to interact and influence successfully at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated data management skills utilizing a large and complex database environment OR using statistical software to collect data and assimilate statistics
  • Demonstrated experience in financial services working with internal partners to drive forward momentum on projects
  • Working knowledge of regression, driver analysis, and more complex data modeling principles


Additional Information

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Strategic planning experience, leading programs with multiple work streams and/or phases aligned, each with a defined scope and timeline, leading all to successful implementation
  • Experience with cloud base marketing campaign management systems, performance analytics and attribution analysis
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
