Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This person will be responsible for serving as the technical owner of assigned manufacturing processes, ensuring process stability, product quality, and continuous improvement across production operations. Additionally, this person will support new product development, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive process enhancements to meet business and operational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as technical owner of assigned manufacturing and process areas
• Ensure process specifications, work instructions, and equipment controls are properly developed, implemented, and communicated
• Monitor and audit product and process performance to ensure material properties, quality standards, and workmanship are achieved
• Support R&D efforts in developing robust manufacturing processes for new products, materials, and alloys
• Assist in production planning and equipment utilization to optimize scheduling and throughput
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Identify root causes of process or material failures using data analysis and implement corrective actions
• Support capital planning, equipment layout, installation, and integration of manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, and Production on raw material requirements and rework decisions
• Participate in APQP programs including development of manufacturing methods, cost estimates, and tooling requirements
• Improve safety within manufacturing operations by identifying and addressing ergonomic and process risks
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues in collaboration with maintenance and production teams
• Develop and maintain detailed work instructions and process documentation
• Provide hands-on technical support to operators and technicians on the production floor
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or related field required
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Strong understanding of process control, material properties, and manufacturing methods
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
• Detail-oriented with strong planning and time management abilities

SPECIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE DESIRED
• Experience with metal powder processing
• Experience with thermal mechanical processing of metals
• Material characterization experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Routinely performs duties in both office and manufacturing environments
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (up to a full work shift)
• Must be able to walk moderate distances, bend, reach, and lift up to 10 lbs.
• Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, temperature variations, and dust
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
