Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Material Recipe Management Specialist leads formulation and recipe lifecycle management for Nestlé VMS products, ensuring formulations are compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with business requirements. This role develops, maintains, and governs product recipes and specifications within SAP, supporting accurate labeling, regulatory compliance, and efficient manufacturing execution.

The position plays a critical role in bringing new products to market, maintaining product quality and compliance, and reducing formulation complexity through standardization and harmonization of recipes, ingredients, and specifications. Working closely with CTAG, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Global MRM, and other cross-functional partners, this role helps drive operational efficiency, product consistency, and business growth across the VMS portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead factory-level Material & Recipe Management activities, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage recipe, ingredient, and specification lifecycles in SAP, ensuring data accuracy, governance, and alignment with approval workflows and change control processes
  • Monitor product compliance performance and KPIs, drive corrective actions, and support achievement of global compliance targets
  • Execute Compliance by Design activities for innovation, renovation, and business maintenance projects, including formulation development, recipe validation, technical acceptance, and CAT specification creation
  • Review and maintain recipes following trials and commercialization activities, monitoring product performance and implementing formulation updates as needed
  • Create and maintain site recipes, Bills of Material (BOMs), processing loss profiles, stability loss profiles, and raw material specifications
  • Ensure raw material and product specifications are accurate, current, and supported by qualification, testing, and supplier data
  • Serve as the factory subject matter expert for recipe, ingredient, and product compliance, providing guidance on regulatory, nutritional, safety, and quality requirements
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of MRM systems, tools, and processes to enable efficient product scale-up, transfers, and lifecycle management
  • Train and support cross-functional teams on Formula1, SAP RM, CAT, DevEx, and related recipe management processes
  • Partner with Global MRM, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Operations, CTAG, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and harmonization initiatives


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Nutrition, or comparable experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a regulated industry such as food, pharmaceuticals, infant nutrition, supplements, or pet food
  • Product development, formulation, recipe management, or technical compliance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of FDA food and/or drug regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Management Systems (QMS), HACCP, and applicable food safety and quality regulations
  • Understanding of ingredient and product development, formulation, and food manufacturing processes
  • Cross-functional and cross-market experience preferred
  • Proficiency with SAP, formulation and specification management systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000- $90,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
