Job Description

Teledyne Micropac is looking for a Master Planner Scheduler who will be responsible for creating and maintaining the master production schedule (MPS). The MPS will indicate when each assembly and subassembly will be produced and how many units of each. The Master Scheduler uses input from the sales, and operations planning process to create the MPS. Manages customer demand (CO), production capacity (internal and external), and lead time. Provides Alerts on Revenue Risk, manages Manufacturing Dates and Past due dates. Works with the production planner to provide Clear to Build for new demand and Shortage alert. Audits and monitors ERP action recommendations and parameters, while aligning to operation processes. Works with the Materials Manager and Production Planner to ensure that the MPS is achievable and to make changes to the schedule as needed.

What you'll do

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Provide Manufacturing Orders priority to production.
  • Create MPS Based on demand and resources available (assemblies & subassemblies), while monitoring production compliance.
  • Provides weekly production outputs (based on MPS, Planned vs Actuals), support tracking progress against the production schedule and adjust as needed to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Works with Materials Manager and Production Planners to provide Clear to Build for new Customers Orders (and existing)
  • Maintain a rolling master schedule aligned with capacity, stockroom inventory, purchasing lead times, and financial targets and work orders, provide proper stopper alerts (shortages, quality, capacity, etc.)
  • In conjunction with the Materials Manager, manages and adjusts Manufacturing Dates.
  • Prioritize order sequencing based on revenue impact, key customer commitments, and business strategy; providing analysis & support planning
  • Works closely with production managers, engineers, and other staff to develop production plans that balance the needs of the company with the capabilities of the workforce.
  • Proactively pull data, investigate bottlenecks, troubleshoot MRP and ERP logic issues, and establish operational clarity across departments.
  • Implement pragmatic planning logic, capacity models, and inventory buffers to optimize material flow and input/output control. Manage excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Follow WIP from beginning to end, follow KIT release schedule.
  • Ensure special runs are completed on time.


What you need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration from an accredited business school. - required
  • 3-7 years of progressive experience in production planning, master scheduling, or materials planning in a mid-sized, regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, defense, electronics, medical, etc.) - required
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of understanding the financial and revenue impacts of scheduling decisions. - required
  • Practical experience using ERP/MRP logic and systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, etc.) with the proven ability to maintain accurate schedules without relying on robust, fully implemented system automation. - required
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, PowerPivot, XLOOKUP, Forecasting & Data models.) - required
  • High initiative, self-directed problem-solving skills, and the ability to conduct independent data analysis to resolve operational bottlenecks. - required
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) - advantage
  • Direct hands-on experience with Epicor ERP - advantage
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or Six Sigma Green Belt - advantage
