About the Team:
As the Marketing Operations Project Manager - Events, you will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations - PMO. In this role, you will maintain and build upon the industry events project management foundation and best practices while leading hands-on project management for our owned, customer-facing events. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Growth Marketing team and other cross-functional stakeholders to help organize and standardize their ways of working on event-related demand generation activities. Through this work, you will ensure the ongoing success and continue to build upon our established event planning workflows and processes while maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement scalable event project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices that drive consistency and efficiency across all events. Leverage AI to streamline and optimize existing workflows.
- Manage our event tracking system to ensure project plans, statuses, and details are accurate and continuously maintained, and oversee cross-functional coordination and timeline adherence from kick-off to completion.
- Serve as the connective tissue across Marketing, Product Marketing, and other key stakeholders, ensuring clarity of R&R, alignment on priorities, and effective communication throughout the lifecycle of events.
- Manage and prioritize multiple events from kick-off to completion, creating event plans and timelines, tracking and ensuring all deliverables and deadlines are met, and regularly communicating with all team members and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event vendors and stakeholders, providing regular updates on event progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth execution of the event. Post-event, assess planning success and propose areas for improvement in future events.
- Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track project health, team performance, and operational efficiency. Use insights to continuously refine processes and improve outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 6-7 years of event planning, project management, or production experience in an agency or in-house setting.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of growth marketing and event production processes, how to achieve the vision and execution of an event, and interpreting stakeholder feedback.
- Excellent project management, organizational and multitasking skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel to event sites.
Skills: - Experience with Agile project management methodology.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and an execution mindset.
- Excellent communicator and problem solver with organizational and time-management skills - self-motivated, high-energy, adaptable, resourceful, and results-oriented; able to work in both a team environment and independently.
- Ability to organize and manage complex event-related marketing projects that may at times be ambiguous with multiple interdependencies and a variety of stakeholders.
- Proven success in organizing and standardizing ways of working for dynamic teams.
- Experience working with a wide network of partners in event execution on a global team.
- Must have experience with Google Suite and project management software (e.g., Wrike, Smartsheet, Monday.com , Asana, etc.) and AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini, NotebookLM, etc.)
- Working knowledge of event management software (e.g., Cvent) and marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Salesforce, Outreach) a plus.
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position located in New York is $79,500-$106,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Salary Pay Transparency
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $79500 and $106000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
