HGA is seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager to guide the national marketing strategy for our Engineering and E+I practice. This is a high‑impact role for someone who wants to influence brand direction, elevate market presence, and lead a talented team within one of the nation’s most respected architecture and engineering firms.
This role will partner with the Market Sector Leader (MSL), Market Strategist, and National and Regional BDs to execute the national marketing strategy and plan that supports market business goals and strategies. In collaboration with corporate marketing colleagues, the Marketing Manager oversees execution of a wide range of marketing activities including branding, communications, sponsorships, client events, digital marketing campaigns, awards, project photography and more. The individual manages a sector marketing team and oversees their work on pursuits as well as a broad range of marketing, communications, and other business development opportunities.
Highlighted key responsibilities:
Branding/Messaging:
- In collaboration with the Strategist and the corporate brand & communications team, ensures that the national sector brand message framework is articulated in sector marketing materials.
- Guides the execution of award submissions, sponsorships, memberships/associations, conferences (logistical coordination, asset development, possible on-site support) and thought leadership pieces to enhance visibility and credibility.
- Collaborates with the brand, communications, and digital teams to promote sector projects, news, and expertise across digital channels.
- In partnership with the corporate brand & communications team and sector leadership, supports execution of sector photography and video strategies.
- Produces sector-specific marketing content including presentations, case studies, conference handouts, etc.
Planning/Strategy:
- Implements sector marketing and business development strategy and plan in alignment with national sector business goals and firmwide strategic plan.
- Continues to educate themselves and their team on industry trends and client preferences
Budgeting/Metrics:
- Manages sector-related marketing budgets and reports on ROI for specific sector-related tactics.
- Monitors marketing performance metrics; reports on metrics regularly.
Business Development Support:
- Provides vision and guidance to sector marketing coordinators on pursuit strategy and approach, as needed
- In partnership with business development, provides planning and execution of client events and other relationship development activities.
Team Leadership:
- Supervises sector marketing staff; coaches and guides on best practices, creates growth and development plans, conducts performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in marketing or business development, with at least 3 years focused on the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) or other professional service industry.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint)
- Working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Marketing generalist with exposure to and experience with a wide range of marketing activities
- Strong understanding of the strategy, process, and messaging for pursuits, RFPs, and client interviews, and demonstrated collaboration with business development
- Knowledge of AIA, SMPS, or other industry organizations and certifications (e.g., CPSM) is a plus.
Salary information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $109,000 - $138,800 depending on location, qualifications and experience.
