TAG Hardware is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help bring new and existing products to life, improve how we build them and drive continuous improvement across our operations. What you will be doing: - Implement new product launches and product updates through BOM creation, production planning, vendor sourcing, and pricing analysis
- Produce documentation to properly integrate products into the company and with customers, including training materials and documented quality standards including product warranty guidelines
- Provide input into product designs including manufacturing feasibility
- Evaluate supplier proposals and support selection processes based on cost, performance, and operational impact
- Create, maintain and optimize the Bill of Materials, working closely with supply chain to support BOM accuracy, material planning and procurement requirements.
- Lead or participate in manufacturing output reviews to propose improvements including equipment investments, tooling creation, space utilization and automation.
- Review manufacturing process cycle time trends and process workflows and develop strategies to remove capacity bottlenecks in conjunction with Director of Production.
- Support Production to develop material handling/WIP storage solutions for the facility
- Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to investigating quality issues and determine root causes and develop solutions.
- Understand manufacturing equipment capabilities and limitations to support process improvement including ROI analysis for new equipment, machinery and tooling.
- Communicating with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders on product development rationale, feature/benefit and product lifecycles
- Create and maintain material compliance documentation for company library used to inform and educate customers for all products
- Support the Engineering team with projects as required.
What You'll Bring- 5 - 10 years in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, mechanical Engineering or related technical experience.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (Syspro) and BOM management
- Experience working directly with in the following manufacturing areas: injection moulding, plastics and aluminum extrusions, powder coating, assembly, Supply chain and Quality teams
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
- Experience in capital equipment evaluation and implementation
- Basic CAD skills, experience in Solidworks considered an asset
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Compensation will commensurate with experience with an internal pay range of $90,000 - $110,000.
