Full Job Description
Role Overview

As an MBOM Specialist at Harbinger Motors, you will own the downstream transformation, structuring, and accuracy of manufacturing data. This highly cross-functional role sits directly at the intersection of Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and the Manufacturing team. You will maintain large, complex, and highly configurable MBOM structures spanning our core product portfolio, including modular high-voltage battery packs, E-Axle powertrain systems, and scalable vehicle platforms/chassis frameworks. Your primary focus is ensuring that complex digital design intent maps seamlessly to precise, sequence-driven physical execution on the shop floor.

Core Responsibilities
  • Configurable MBOM Architecture: Manage multi-variant, scalable MBOM structures across various product categories. Ensure that complex configuration logic maps perfectly to option-codes for diverse vehicle wheelbases, payload ratings, and powertrain setups.
  • EBOM-to-MBOM Translation: Drive the seamless transition of engineering design datasets (EBOMs) into sequence-driven manufacturing structures (MBOMs). Define plant consumption points, line-side stocking rules, and strategic phantoms for complex sub-assemblies.
  • Effectivity Management: Implement, monitor, and oversee strict "Evolution" (date/milestone-based) and "Variant" (option-based) effectivity. Ensure that the exact correct parts are systematically associated with specific VIN configurations, vehicle prototypes, and serial production schedules.
  • BOM Analysis & Reporting: Proactively analyze data discrepancies by running comparative BOM discrepancy reports. Audit multi-level parts lists and provide direct structural feedback to design and manufacturing engineering teams to strictly maintain our target BOM accuracy of 100%.
  • Change Governance & Turnaround: Direct the execution of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), and Process Change Orders (PCOs). Rigorously assess the operational impact of inline design updates on active workstation inventory and work instructions, ensuring PCO turnaround times are expedited as quickly as possible to prevent manufacturing delays.
  • Cross-Functional Synchronization: Collaborate tightly with purchasing, logistics, and quality assurance to verify cross-system data alignment, minimizing material shortages and supporting smooth prototype builds through to serial production phases.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Automotive Background: Minimum 3+ years of technical manufacturing data or configuration management experience within an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment. Direct exposure to EV platforms, high-voltage battery enclosures, powertrain distribution, or commercial chassis integration is strongly preferred.
  • PLM Mastery: Advanced, hands-on proficiency in the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) platform for configuration control, product structuring, and change management. Candidates with deep expertise in Siemens Teamcenter will also be highly considered.
  • ERP Competency: Working knowledge of NetSuite ERP for managing inventory master data, item records, and production routing. Experience with other enterprise systems like Oracle or SAP is also acceptable.
  • Data Dexterity: Proven expertise managing massive, multi-level configurable data frameworks. You must possess a deep, structural understanding of option rules, variant conditions, system dependencies, and effectivity dates.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (equivalent practical experience considered).

Key Benefits & Perks:
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) - 100% employee covered
  • Early-stage Stock Options
  • Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave
  • Annual Vacation Bonus
  • Wellness & Fertility Benefits
  • Cell Phone Stipend
  • Complimentary Meals & Stocked Kitchens
