Full Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Manager of Value Stream Engineering at MKS, you will be the end-to-end owner of one or more value streams in optical fabrication. You will partner with operations and engineering teams to continually optimize flow, capacity, quality, and output. In this role, you will report to the Director of Manufacturing/Operations.

You Will Make an Impact By:
• Own overall cell output and value stream performance (“cell health”)
•    Analyze and improve flow of materials, information, and resources
•    Identify bottlenecks and eliminate process inefficiencies
•    Balance capacity across interdependent fabrication cells
•    Lead end-to-end process optimization initiatives (e.g., full product lifecycle reviews)
•    Communicate cell needs and constraints to supervisors, planners, engineering, and supply chain
•    Establish and align engineering and production priorities
•    Coordinate with management on capacity planning and resource allocation
•    Monitor SFIC inputs/outputs and enforce process discipline
•    Review, prioritize, and track Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP)

•    Ensure documentation accuracy (OWIs, routers, training materials)

•    Travel Requirements: 5% of Travel is required

Skills You Bring:
• Bachelor's in Engineering degree
• 5+ years of related experience
• Expertise in process optimization and lean manufacturing principles
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) in manufacturing work cells and production area

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with change management
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time

• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination

• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 25 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must be able to exchange accurate information
• Operates in a [professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing] environment
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
• Noise level in the work environment is usually average
