Position Summary: As a UX Product Designer, you will be an integral part of an innovative and bold initiative that takes a modern approach of disciplined Agile and Lean software practices aimed at transforming healthcare and pharmacy. The UX Product Designer is essential to ensuring product success and end-user satisfaction in a highly collaborative environment working within an ecosystem of apps for a pharmacy benefits management platform known as myPBM. You will help educate both business and technology teams on human-centered design and UX best practices, as well as lead products from discovery through iterative delivery.
A firm understanding of user-centered design principles and user research methodologies is crucial for success in the role. Empathy, creative problem-solving, comfort with uncertainty, pairing with team members, excellent communication skills, curiosity, and learning are the foundational characteristics of the UX Product Designer.
Your key responsibilities - Full-stack designer: owner of all dimensions of design - research, usability evaluation, information architecture, wireframes, visual, CSS and HTML - it's ok not be an expert in all, but important to have a willingness to learn
- Demonstrate a methodical process that takes business and user needs to ship delightful user experiences into the hands of users.
- Experience working directly with business, product, and tech stakeholders to produce great user experiences that satisfy user needs, business needs and technically feasibility
- Able to advocate for user centered design, design standards, and value of design in written and verbal communications
- Experience leading and facilitating activities with a group such as design sketching exercises, user research synthesis, and retros
How your first month might look like this: - Week 1: Meet your buddy and manager to ensure your computer is set up, and you have all the key software and tools you need. Meet your product team to begin understanding product goals, scope, and near-term expectations from you.
- Week 2: begin working closely with your product manager and business owner to familiarize or begin to define user journeys. You'll dive into setting up your Figma files to set up your workspace with what you need to begin low fidelity wireframes or familiarize yourself with the existing designs. You will also meet the myPBM design team and get familiarized with design systems, patterns, standards, and tooling.
- Month 1: By the end of the first month, you'll be regularly producing mock-ups for delivery, advocating for good UX, accessibility, and design system standards. You'll annotate designs where necessary, especially to ensure accessibility. Working with PMs and engineers, you'll ensure alignment on story requirements and feasibility. Team meetings and pairing will give you a general understanding of the broader myPBM ecosystem.
How we'll support you myPBM design team
- Ad hoc feedback through MS Teams channels for design system usage, standards, feedback, and general chatter
- Design pairing - work simultaneously with another designer to naturally share knowledge around domain, process, tooling, etc.
- Weekly design review/crit for feedback and sharing
- Dedicated design researcher for support on bigger research needs
- Report to a chain of managers each with extensive experience in the design practice
CVS design community
- Tri-weekly meetings on community organized topics
- Dedicated accessibility designer
- MS Teams community for latest design topics, learnings and general chatter
Required Qualifications: - 5+ years professional experience as a UX Architect, UX Designer, or Product Designer role.
- 2+ years of experience in at least one of the 3 design pillars: user research, interaction design or visual design.
- 1+ years of working effectively with Agile and lean philosophies
- 1+ years of experience working independently with clients or stakeholder and designing business or enterprise applications
- 1+ years of experience executing user-centered design methodologies by leading product design decisions from research through implementation
- 1+ years of experience designing and prototyping in Figma
- 1+ year of experience with modern front-end technologies and open source frameworks (e.g. Material Design, HTML/CSS, grid systems, responsive design)
Preferred Qualifications: - Successes in advocating for user centered design, design standards, and value of design to stakeholders who are unfamiliar or resistant
- Able to manage multiple business stakeholders with different and sometimes competing needs
- Able to hold their own in conversation with technical stakeholders to explore the art of the possible
- Strong facilitation skills with a bias to action, extracting key information needed to unlock and unblock design work
- Able to organize and facilitate full day workshops alongside business and PM stakeholders to align stakeholders and converge on next steps
- Has a methodical and just-in-time approach to absorbing a complex domain space
- Experiments with new techniques and workflows to innovate on design craft and processes without putting undue risk on the team
- Self driven to provide general support for the design team as well as share learnings, innovations and emerging design topics
- Experience in pharmacy and healthcare industries or industries with high complexity (ie: Financial services) building business to business or internal facing software
- Ability to channel AI hype into AI focused on augmenting great user experiences
Education Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Fine Arts, Computer Science or Similar. Equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree considered.

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
