OverviewWho we're looking forToyota's Production Engineering and Maintenance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Manager, Production Maintenance.
The primary responsibility of this role is to work with the Group Leaders to maintain production equipment, improve MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) through teaching, coaching, problem solving, and team member development.
The person in this role will support the Production Maintenance department's objective to achieve daily key performance indicators for Safety, Quality, Productivity, HRD and plan and implement processes to conduct preventive maintenance and predict and prevent unplanned downtime.
This position is based in Long Beach, CA. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.
What you'll be doing - Develop the Maintenance Group Leaders to effectively coordinate daily plant-wide maintenance activities utilizing all shops and available skilled team members
- Manage and coordinate major machine repairs with production engineering on aging equipment in Stamping and Weld as well as modifications and retrofits to combat parts obsolescence
- Report to Senior management daily on Key Performance Indicators and develop improvement plans to close GAPs and improve equipment performance
- Develop training and skill level up plans through evaluation of team members, utilizing NAPSC when possible
- Coordinate weekend work plans to accommodate production and equipment maintenance needs
- Support achieving company hoshin targets by managing assigned activities.
- Work with Production and Engineering to promote daily achievement of KPI's.
- Provide Maintenance with technical and problem-solving support to solve issues and report results.
- Must be able to work weekends and shut-down periods as needed.
- Technical skills related to mechanical, electrical and controls (PLC) process and problem solving
- Provide support and coordinate activities related to changepoint management
What you bring - Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in Engineering and/or plant maintenance
- Maintenance and/or engineering experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience with responsibility for direct reports or Toyota experience at Senior Engineer, Group Leader or above
- PLC experience with (Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc) for mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including the ability to troubleshoot with Ladder Logic
- Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation, such as drawings, reports, manuals, technical specifications, etc. for engineering use
- Experience creating and delivering presentations to all levels of team members and leadership
Added bonus if you have - Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering
- CAD and CATIA experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D and 3D drawings
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing related department such as Stamping, Welding, or Painting
- Toyota Ringi or major project request and budget proposal writing experience
- TBP completed through panel or equivalent documented problem-solving activity
- Experience using risk analysis tools (PFMEA)
- Knowledge of RJ (necessary condition) development for new/existing processes.

The annual base salary range for this position is $140,200.00 - $243,000.00.
