Who we are - TFS

The TFS Data Science team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Science Product Owner to lead the strategy, prioritization, and delivery of enterprise data science products and capabilities. In this role, you will drive the evolution of high-impact data science solutions that enable advanced decision-making, scalable automation, and measurable business value across the organization.

As a product owner, you will partner with business stakeholders, product leaders, data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define the vision and execution approach for data science initiatives.

Your expertise in product ownership, agile delivery, and data science concepts will allow you to translate enterprise business needs into a clear product strategy, ensuring solutions are aligned to organizational priorities and delivered with quality, speed, and impact

What you'll be doing

  • Own and maintain the backlog for data science products, use cases, and enhancements.
  • Translate business goals into user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.
  • Prioritize work based on business value, feasibility, risk, and dependencies.
  • Gather and document requirements for machine learning models, analytics, predictive capabilities, and automated decisioning solutions.
  • Ensure requirements capture data inputs, outputs, edge cases, business rules, success measures, and best practices.
  • Partner with business leaders, product managers, data scientists, data engineers, QA, and technical teams to define scope and align priorities.
  • Support agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate dependencies, escalate risks, and manage blockers across teams.
  • Define validation criteria and support testing of model performance, output quality, and business fit.
  • Monitor KPIs, experiment results, adoption metrics, and business impact indicators.
  • Maintain documentation for decisions, assumptions, release notes, change impacts, and governance traceability.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, or relevant experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in product ownership, business analysis, analytics, or delivery coordination in a technical or data-driven environment
  • Experience with and knowledge of Agile frameworks and product backlog management
  • Experience using Jira, GitHub, Confluence, and similar collaboration tools
  • Experience with data science concepts such as model development, experimentation, deployment, and monitoring
  • Experience with SQL, Python, reporting, dashboards, or analytics tools
  • Practical understanding of how data science products are built and operated - enough to write credible requirements, evaluate tradeoffs and be substantive counterpart to data scientists and ML engineers without building models directly

Added bonus if you have
  • Experience with A/B testing or experimental design
  • Familiarity with machine learning lifecycle or MLE practices
  • Experience working with data pipelines, dashboards, or data quality processes
  • Experience in financial services or banking
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS

During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities. A few highlights include:
  • A work environment built on teamwork, flexibility, and respect
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career, as well as tuition reimbursement
  • Team Member Vehicle Purchase Discount
  • Toyota Team Member Lease Vehicle Program (if applicable)
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans for your entire family
  • Toyota 401(k) Savings Plan featuring a company match, as well as an annual retirement contribution from Toyota regardless of whether you contribute (if applicable)
  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • Referral services related to prenatal services, adoption, childcare, schools and more
  • Tax Advantaged Accounts (Health Savings Account, Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA) Relocation assistance (if applicable)
