We're hiring a Manager of Production at our Hendersonville, NC location!
Salary Range: $86K - $112K annually. (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills.)
General Description of PositionThe Production Manager oversees processes and improvements based on a variety of production needs. This position will direct the production team in daily manufacturing of existing products and processes, while working with the Engineering team on the development of new processes, training of supervisors, customer interaction, and interaction with Kyocera sales/operations.
The Production Manager is responsible for the continual maintenance of a safe working environment, funding upkeep of production lines, as well as daily/monthly/yearly HE (P/L) sheet planning/result. This position will report to the Plant Manager or equivalent level and is accountable for all team functions/performance.
Requirements4 year degree preferred in manufacturing or operations
High school diploma required and experience in managing a production team in a manufacturing environment
5 years experience managing production staff
Ability to manage staff and follow through on deadlines and goals
Ability to motivate staff at all levels
Knowledge of FMEA, Lean and Six Sigma Principles helpful
Computer skills: proficient with Outlook, SAP and Excel
Ability to work well with other people, both externally and internally
Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of machines, SPC, Failure Analysis, and engineering metrics
Vision required in the job includes close vision and reading a computer screen
Eligible to work in an ITAR environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Interviews, supervises, develops, mentors, and coordinates Production supervisors and scheduling team.
- Works directly with customers to make sure all requirements are addressed on production manufacturing. Interactions may be in email, teleconference, or face to face.
- Understands and ensures ITAR control of products, drawings, and any other related materials.
- Works closely with quality and engineering managers to ensure support and compliance within the manufacturing floor.
- Approves, manages, and works with sub-contractors as related to engineering and production.
- May serve on the CAR review board and will review CARS assigned to sub departments.
- Reviews and measures performance daily, to drive meeting or exceeding shipment and profit goals.
- Maintains high standards to key plant performance metrics including Safety, maintenance, OTD, quality, production, sonkin.
- Calculates expense plans and coordinates purchases with supply management. Works closely with accounting on expense and inventory control.
- Prepares reports, flow diagrams, SPC, drawings and charts as requested. Presents to senior management as needed.
- Participates in hiring, promotions, firing, performance reviews, or/and disciplinary processes as needed. Works closely with human resources.
- Works directly with supervisors and department managers on obstacles and results.
- Promotes safe work practices and reviews accident investigations for the facility if applicable.
- Works closely with quality department, other departmental supervisors/managers, production manager, EHS, Scheduling and plant management daily.
- Reports departmental deliverables to plant manager and/or sr production manager as needed monthly. Prepares analysis on OTD and efficiency plant wide.
- Models professional and ethical behavior in reporting and decision making.
- Manages compensation planning for production team with feedback from department managers and human resources.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
